1989 Conquest TSi - Red
1989 Chrysler Conquest TSi - SOLD
Last year of production - southern car with zero rust or corrosion. Sister car to the Mitsubishi Starion.
Rear-wheel drive, turbocharged 2.6L 4-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, Mexican Red exterior with black leather interior in nice condition. Newly rebuilt engine with less than 500 miles --- new pistons & rings, AMC Marnal non-jet valve head, polished valves, ARP head studs, balance shaft elimination kit, new injectors, new CX Racing aluminum radiator w/ fans, new steering box, new starter, new belts/hoses/plugs/wires/vacuum lines, all new fluids, etc. Nicely polished OEM staggered wheels (16x8 rear, 16x7 front) with brand new tires. 131K miles on car itself. Rust-free car, super clean undercarriage, air dam in-tact with one repairable corner area (quoted $450 at body shop for repair & paint).
Interior is very clean, and the 88/89 cars has the most desired interior setup over the previous years (along with certain upgraded mechanical, electronics etc). It has the Recaro-style black leather seats, and all other interior surfaces are in great condition - dash, steering wheel, door panels, rear seats, side trims and upper cushions, headliner, etc. The car comes with the original spare tire, jack and tools and OEM service manuals as well.
The car runs very well on the highway, gets to 80+mph quickly and boosts the way it should. All electrical options work: power windows, locks, pop-up headlights, automatic retracting seat belts, HVAC panel, radio, signals/wipers etc. Car passed the full Virginia State Inspection in January and is tagged and registered, still driven on occasion.
One running item of note - the car starts immediately and drives very well, but idles low at times when coming to a stop. Then once accelerating again, it's perfect. Worth mentioning as I try to cover all bases.
Overall an extremely nice car, not showroom perfect but in better condition than most. Here are flaws worth pointing out (and see last pics):
-Two small door dings/dimples on the passenger door and a couple on the roof. Some small scratches and touch-up chips here and there and a spot on the rear bumper that has been touched up. Exterior is very nice, but not perfect.
-Reparable section of lower air dam/spoiler on drivers side (as mentioned above)
-Power antenna works, but stops about 8" from the full flush position when radio is turned off.
-Factory A/C system is fully installed, but was not charged after engine work and other upgrades were done.
